Deathly silence on the subject here - why?
I was particularly pleased to hear the Funeral March for Rikard Nordraak in G's own wind scoring. I got to know the piece in a brass arrangement and would definitely rate it among my 'Top 10 Funeral Marches', right up there with Siegfried's F M. (Dare I start a 'List your..' thread in this name??

Have only heard part of the first three programmes but all had bits I enjoyed (not all the arrangements grabbed me though). IMHO G is one of the great melodists/ miniaturists, and I'm particularly a sucker for his songs. (Memo to self: must learn to speak Norwegian...!)
Re that Funeral March, I'd like to get a recording of that wind version but most of the available versions from the River-people seem to be on orchestral discs, and it's possible that what you'd get is the (?)Sinding orchestration that AM mentioned in the programme. I want to avoid this if poss, at least till I feel the need for a third version (fourth if by then I've bought the pf original...). Can anyone point me to an available wind version please?
