    JC Bach: 28 April - 2 May

I was going to complain about this being yet another repeat but I found a couple of programmes I have managed to catch up so far as interesting as if they were new. Back in 2009 when this was first broadcast, I had only very foggy idea about the music from this ‘in-between’ ear but since then, thanks to many interesting programmes on R3 and posts on this Forum, I have learned quite a lot, which has made JC Bach’s music much more enjoyable to listen to.

All the same, as there have been many interesting recordings since 2009, I hope there will be a new Composer of the Week of JC Bach and other composers from this era.

I hadn't heard the broadcasts before and enjoyed them this time round.

What a household JS Bach must have had.

Interesting views on JC Bach from performers’ point of view. The quality of subtitle is rather poor but you can just about make it out. The talk begins at 5.40.

Radio3 had taken (took?)a long time to notice him.

Incidentally, this is the CD of the video
