    Handel 21 April –

This week, as part of the BBC's Eighteenth Century season, Donald Macleod explores the music Handel composed for the Georges, I and II, and to commemorate major events in their reigns.

I am happy to hear any amount of Handel but the 18th century didn’t exactly suffer from a shortage of composers. It could have been a good opportunity to explore less frequently played composers.

The trouble I find with this presenter, is that he is too script orientated.

I don’t think it is realistic to expect a programme of this nature to be presented without a script. I think Donald Macleod uses/reads the script expertly.
