That glimpse of GK from Darmstadt Summer Course '08 reminds me of his not infrequent visits to the IMS at Prussia Cove, Cornwall c.10 years ago, when he would coach advanced students in chamber music, in a double-act with Mrs Kurtag, who would sling back the English translation of his passionate Hungarian to the slightly nervous-looking players. Good to see his Signs, Games and Messages on the music list at the most recent September Seminar. 'Meeting Sándor Végh', he said [at IMS], 'was one of life’s greatest gifts.'Comment
