    Josquin's Miserere

Not sure if I should be asking this question under another thread but...

I learnt about this song/motet/poem from the Radio 3 Story of Music in Fifty Pieces podcast.

"Miserere mei Deus by 15th century composer Josquin de Prez."

I was just wondering where I could find a good recording of it, and of any other similar recommendations.

    Thanks.

there are a couple of nice preformances/recordings around.
Of the ones mentioned here the 2 (Deutsche) Harmonia Mundi recordings, the Hyperion, the Stradivarius (listed twice) and the CPO are definitely recommendable.

        Thanks.
The piece has kind of an "Early Music Greatest Hits" status. If you have a service such as Spotify or Pandora, you could sample several versions

I have a version that was on a BBC Music Magazine free CD, burned to a hard drive with not much accompanying information (such as the performers--gotta love iTunes for the way it organizes classical music).

          Good idea! thanks.

I'm actually looking into this now, written for the Este court of Ferrara.

Are you perhaps confusing this with Allegri's Miserere?
I can't find the Josquin in my BBC Music Magazine CD collection (but the catalogue I refer to does not have all tracks listed for some of the compilations).

Is that a pointer to the BBC MM CD?
                Still can't find it!
