The advance notice of these concerts has just arrived. Apart from the Mahler there is a complete cycle of Sibelius symphonies. Of these, the only one I would seriously consider is the second in the series, which has Kavakos playing the Violin Concerto sandwiched between the 3rd and 4th symphonies. Much as I love Sibelius, the prospect of hearing 1& 2 together in one evening with a later concert of 5, 6 & 7 in a row is rather daunting, even with these performers.
One composer evenings can be rather indigestible in my view. Others will feel that a journey through Sibelius in this way will be rewarding.
