I'd never have imagined I'd start a thread about Bruckner, but...

An American blog about Radio 3. I couldn't resist it:

Much of what is in this blog is related (sometimes only tangentially) to art music. Occasionally I use insensitive language in referring to various arrogant or incompetent assholes who managed to get on my nerves. If you're squeamish about such language, then stay away from this blog. To contact me, use boomboomsky at gmail dot com.

He or she is rather naughty... The item about 'unconvincing-looking' opera singers is... trenchant, for instance.

However the blog offered a picture - of DSCH apparently having fun in a 'photo-me' booth - that I'd never seen before and find irresistible..!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Where has Harry Worth gone? The theme music comes only when i see the picture! Did I start this trend?

He's there, just younger - and hasn't bought the hat yet.

No, not your trend. I just find photos of Dmitri Dmitrievich grinning rather fascinating and spooky... and touching.

I'd always thought, with that battered old pork pie hat that it was a rather myopic, down and out friend of Cali.

I'm relieved. I like this site - there's often good downloadable recordings (ad the avatar's excellent, if risky!).

I know what you mean Cali - he's not supposed to have been happy, ever - surely?

a complete unknown , of course, until he featured on the B side of the Skids "into the Valley".

Well, he was unknown to me, at any rate !!

We had a "Harry Worth" mirror at my first job.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
