I've decided, in a moment of insanity the only way to get my technique back is to learn Tausig's Op.1, Das Geisterschiff. This is going to be interesting... I've read elsewhere that the orchestral version of this work, widely reported as having been destroyed during the second world war, has recently been discovered and scanned. It's on the Goethe-Schiller Archiv website (if you can find it - I've only managed once, not helped by my lack of understanding of German)

Here is a demo of some work with synthesisers - https://soundcloud.com/user-97747343...ies-to-bach-v2
It is surprising how exactly the same musical fragments can give completely different sounds when played on diffferent synthesisers.

Been practising far more than recently for the last 3 days. Trying to get Alkan Marche Op.37 no.1 back under my fingers - it was going well last year and then I stopped practising it. I also have the same problem with Rachmaninov Op.23 no.5, so that will need to be re-learnt. All this as well as working on the Tausig.Best regards,
Jonathan

Just fooling around with synthesizers, and some "real" sounds.
The main aim here was to explore the sonorities possible with different synthesizers. Some were a surprise.
Should really fade in and out, but just wanted to see what could be produced with the material available.
It stops abruptly - so I wll probably have to go back in to produce something which finishes.

Some good things there Dave
I think it would be improved by spreading the image a bit so things are panned a bit (not as ridiculously as in some of the Beatles tracks)

Can't even do anything with the Coronavirus thread now - until maybe later today. I hope it reopens. Perhaps I should put some really angry sounds together while I wait!
We still need someone at the BBC or elsewhere to push hard now on international comparisons. Yesterday we were told we were very involved internationally - so involved that we're not included in the European medical group - and that we didn't bother to take the advice we were given from other countries a while back. Of course this is not proven, and deniable ... etc. etc. yadayadayda ...
I know we don't need to have the international comparisons presented every day, but trying to pretend that they shouldn't be shown at all. How many tons of wool (I'm sure you'll think of something better ...) will some people think they're pulling over our eyes to try to cover up their mistakes?

"yes son, they are, they are real puppets"
(Iain Banks , The Crow Road)
Can sounds be "angry" ?
“The emotions - love, mirth, the heroic, wonder, tranquillity, fear, anger, sorrow, disgust - are in the audience.”
Now that it IS the 25th I guess we will have to wait till Wednesday 26th 2021 ? (Bryn... maybe the time is now ?)
You need to remember that the UK (or rather ENGLAND) is a cultural Galapagos that has NO connection with the rest of the world....

If we're not "doing" music for emotions, or at least some sort of resonant response, what are we doing it for? Just filling in time I guess.

"Emotions" are just one
as is passing the time between sleeps
But there are many many more
