Thanks mercia, yes he went from G&T to Eulenburg, a 'sister' company in the same building.
Sadly life went on and I completely lost track of him, apart from his Bruckner book.

He said he owed a lot to Kubelik, to get back OT.

Kubelik had a wonderful partnership for a few years with Clifford Curzon . they recorded Mozart K467, K488, K491 and K595 together with the Bavarians and also Beethoven concerti 4 and 5. I prefer their interpretations of Mozart to the more venerated versions on Decca with Britten.
All are still available on the Audite Label and are well worth investigating.
Audite also has a great many more Kubelik performances on CD.
Kubelik was another of that great line of conductors like Furtwangler ,Barbirolli ect. who came alive when performing rather than recording. Maybe it had something to do with making recordings in the 78 era, when only 4 minute sections were possible. Kubelik, in performance was marvellous.
