    Bertrand De Billy...

    Whenever I see this artist's name it always makes me think of Ikea! Something to do with the imaginative names this company gives its products.

    However, I'm listening to a superb Schubert 'Great' C Major symphony from him. (And I've heard a LOT of 'Greats' recently!!) It's very clear and has propulsion without being 'driven'.

    Opinions on this artists other work are invited...

    Afraid to say his name brings to mind visions of the circus, no doubt something to do with Bertram Mills and Billy Smart

    Not heard much from him and know little of his background but believe most of his work is done with the Austrian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

      did he ever get round to the unfinished?

          This reminds me of the time a party of us went round to Schubert's birthplace in Vienna in 1981. We entered the room where the birth took place to find it completely bare apart from a bust of the composer. The comedian in the party called out in a loud voice: 'It's unfinished!'
