Be careful what you wish for. I understand that, given that the audiance numbers for Radio 3 have increased so much with the new format- wall to wall film music, a quiz and Desert Island Discs section on EC, playschool presenters everywhere etc etc- the powers to be now intend to have a One Direction season to boost the figures even further. And if that works they intend to have a Bay City Rollers, and Spice Girls retrospective.
But don't worry. To balance things up the BBC intend to re-schedule Radio 2 and 3 with a large dose of Stockhausen, Boulez, etc....Should work wonders for their listener figures.

A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Yes, but what dasterdly horror will they fill the gaps with. If past experience is anything to go by, it wont be pleasant.

To think that we used to rely on Radio 3 to set standards, not follow trends. Film music, the charts, crass celebrity choices. All very sad.

Just found a website which lists Radio 3 and its top songs playlist:
BBC Radio 3 airplay chart: Sunday 22nd September - Sunday 29th September inclusive
Like Private Eye's Scenes You Seldom See ....It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
