Richard Tarleton
And on Hyperion's Helios series (does that count?) Paul O'Dette's magical "Ancient Airs and Dances", the source material for Respighi.

That doesn't mean we have to individually choose more than one. I know my rights.

anyway, anybody got any idea where a person might get to hear Robert Simpson's chamber music, prior to a prospective purchase?
Cheers.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Having fond memories of Ted Perry and still being in touch with some of the current production teams, there aren't many that I wouldn't like to have. However, some people seem to differ - http://www.hyperion-records.co.uk/o.asp?o=1016&vw=dc . I can certainly understand the aversion to Liszt!

Schubert Lieder (as mentioned) + Schumann Lieder box
Brahms String Sextets, Raphael Ensemble
Leslie Howard - Complete Liszt on a formidable 99 CDs! (of which I have a mere three - the Schubert Lieder transcriptions.)
Davitt Moroney - The Keyboard Music of William Byrd, of which I knew almost nothing before investing in this set.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. The Hyperion catalogue is rather unwieldy for the uninitiated. Lots for me to mull over and sample.
