"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Ginger Tom?
        Can you.... hear me?

"Here am I floating round my tin can
        Far above the Moon
        Planet Earth is blue

Sorry! I slap my wrists and deserve to get modded!

What a writer David Meowie was in those days.

            as in: ?
            It's on America's tortured brow
That Mickey Mouse has grown up a cow
And the workers have struck for fame
            'Cause Lenin's on sale again

See the mice in their million hordes
From Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads
Rule Britannia is out of bounds
To my mother, my dog, and clowns

I used to be a bit of a Bowie fan, I am no longer. But I still cherish my Ziggy Stardust cd.

                What are we coming to
No room for me, no fun for you
I think about a world to come
Where the books were found by the golden ones
Written in pain, written in awe
By a puzzled man who questioned
                What we were here for
                All the strangers came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay

Do you know at one time , being very young and impressinable, I thougt he and The Smiths were the veritable dogs' doo-dahs! I swiftly moved onto Dr Robert and the Blow Monkeys!!

All things considered, I'd rather be down on Jollity Farm (original version sans Viv & BDDB)

... just in awe and wonder at seeing how far this thread has wandered its delicious way; far, far from the austere strictures of the Original Post....

Widening of ones horizons is always to be applauded. Go you !!

A pity one never sees Blow monkeys LPs in the bargain boxes in charity shops , along with Paul Young

If you do not wish to post on the subject of this forum, you are quite free to post elsewhere.

I find this behaviour most offensive and childish. (I'm surprised that you should join in, Caliban - I thought the hosts were supposed to keep an eye on these things)

No wonder I feel inclined to quit this forum altogether. I post on these boards to offer my views in good faith. Not to take the mickey out of others.

Oh no you haven't, 8thob, there are no house rules that I'm aware of, telling us to be prudish.
I'm sure we can have 'a bit of fun' the day after the LNOP!
