    Sucessfully?

I thought that about Richard Barrett's concert.

A very different set of circumstances, I think. All three performers are U.K. based, with UK university teaching posts.

Of course, there is the possibility of weather disruption at that time of year.

Just off to Bromsgrove tomorrow for the Dante Quartet's 3-day complete Shostakovich cycle, plus a full quota of talks, films etc to fill up the gaps.

Naturally, the cycle concludes with the 15th, of which the composer said he wanted, at its first performance, flies to be dying on the wing in the concert hall as the music played! A tough test for a truly authentic performance, but I shall be watching carefully...
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Looks like a pre Christmas cracker Cali. I'm not familiarwith the Piano version of Scheherazade - just checking out on Amazon music by Corinne Sertillanges and Daniel Benzakoun - never heard of them but they sound good!

The Weinberg concerts in Birmingham starting tomorrow evening. Birmingham is out of my comfort zone, but I couldn't resist a chance to hear several pieces of his music (plus talks) over a couple of days.

I am reliably advised that For Bunita Marcus will also be on the menu at Cafe OTO, January 3rd, next year.

Funny enough, I was listening to that last week and I thought that it's probably my favourite Feldman composition. And at a mere 70-odd minutes, one does not have to give up most of one's weekend to listen to it.

I wouldn't mind going along to Cafe Oto for that, but I don't think I'm free that week.

P.S. The recording I have is performed by Stephane Ginsburgh

It will not surprise you that I have several recordings of the work, the most recent acquisition being that from Marc Andre Hamelin. Tilbury's London Hall recording remains that I most favour. I have that both as the separate CD first issued, and in the "All Piano" 4 disc set which I was given at the time of its release.

As to tickets, I just had confirmation of one for Maida Vale Studios next Thursday afternoon (live broadcast) and another for Friday evening at IKLECTIK (Butcher, de Saram, Moore and Prevost). Really looking forward to hearing/seeing Rohan and Eddie working together again.
