Excitement mounts round here. Off to Bayreuth for the first time next week. Itinerary is fixed, taking in Cologne, Leipzig and Luxembourg. The Tannhäuser set failed spectacularly on the first night with VIPs present. Can't wait.
Future concerts you're excited to have tickets for.....

Good work Ferney.
Personally, I think that they thought that number 1 would sell strongly but number 2 was more artistically appropriate, so it was a case of " 1 for the money, 2 for the show........"Last edited by teamsaint; 07-08-14, 05:47.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. Yevgeny Sudbin this Friday (Scarlatti, Beethoven, Chopin, Scriabin), Christophe Rousset next Wednesday (Rameau) and Benjamin Grosvenor next Thursday (Schubert, Chopin, Mompou, Medtner, Ravel): all part of the Menton Festival and all at (for France) the amazingly civilised time of 6pm (makes a change from Roque d'Anthéron's 9.30pm as will not being outside and being subject to downpours). The fact that tickets are all €10 is a bit suspicious - maybe we're going to get cardboard cut-outs with CDs being played in the background.

Very very jealous!
Certainly YS is planning to be there in person judging by his calendar - although he appears to be aiming for 8pm.... Hope he doesn't miss his own recital....!!
A tenner sounds like brilliant value (if he arrives on time) !"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
