The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and soloists are doing a cut down version of The Magic Flute for the York Rise Street Party at 1pm tomorrow (Park Stage, Dartmouth Park Road NW5 1SN). Entry is free but you might be encouraged to buy a raffle ticket.

Didn’t Schnabel once say that “piano recitals , like a visit to Paris , start at Notre Dame but always end in a night club. “. Maybe she’ll do a Gershwin encore …but I doubt it.

A little odd perhaps to play only one movement of the Barber, but it's a mighty movement and should be fun to hear/watch being performed.
