Two years after the last post, I am much looking forward to being able to buy tickets without worrying too much about performances being cancelled. Ivan Fischer, Pat Kop and the Budapest FO in an all-Stravinsky programme in the RFH on Thursday of next week then ‘The Cunning Little Vixen’ at ENO on the Friday.

Likewise, nothing specific booked yet, but I am looking forward to this year's Swaledale Festival (https://www.swalefest.org/) and The Sixteen's annual choral pilgrimage which visits York in July.

Here’s hoping I’ll be able to attend but at least it’s on the radio.

Btw, did you make it to the gig in the end?

The really good news is that this isn't going to set off any bickering about "best" recordings.

I assume you are aware of the composer's own website EotS https://steveelcock.fr/works-2“Music is the best means we have of digesting time." — Igor Stravinsky

Thanks to a passing remark by Kate Molleson on Breakfast yesterday morning about having been to a rehearsal of the Bach St Matthew Passion by the Dunedin Consort, I have tickets for tonight at Wigmore Hall. I have never heard this work live and am very excited about the prospect, especially with this ensemble. Vaut le voyage, as I beieve Michelin guides say.Last edited by kernelbogey; 12-04-22, 05:20.
