The science of music - Robert Winston R4

This Radio 4 programme looked at what happens to the brain when an individual performs music. A bit waffly at times, but there were some interesting nuggets, i.e. the superior parietal lobe being active when reading notation...an area usually concerned with spatial matters. Usual misunderstanding about 'perfect pitch' ....as if an A440 was somehow floating out there in the universe.

Prof Robert Winston on what happens when we perform music - does it change our brains?

Tasmin Little took part in the discussion.
