    Music Feature - The Rite

What a fascinating programme that was today outlining various choreographies of The Rite of Spring. Just wish I could be in le Theatre des Champs Elysees next week to see the reconstruction of Nijiinsky's (lost) original.

Yes, a splendid programme. I thought the dancers talking about how it felt to perform the work were even more interesting - it's important to remember that it was written to be danced to, & how difficult & exhausting it must be.

There was a TV programme which featured the reconstructed Nijinsky choreography way back in 1989. I had it on VHS at one time but is now sadly long gone.

              It's available on DVD:

There's a good documentary included, explaining how it was reconstructed.
