I like FF's formula. It could usefully be employed with other variables elsewhere.

Any old how, back in my days in the public sector, if you went away on a course, for instance, you got an overnight allowance which broadly comprised a nights decent B and B, second class train fare or equivalent in petrol money, and a meal.If you claimed the overnight you had to stay away from your home, but if you cadged a bed from a friend, you could pocket the money. It worked, and kept costs in check.

Not as much fun as a BBC Platinum credit card, I guess.

I can't see how. I'd have thought that anything that promoted Britishness and British music was by definition a good thing for Britain. I don't often see his articles of course, so I admit I haven't read him being "divisive".
