trouble with conversations about concert halls is that they can go round in circles, or perhaps somebody stalls them.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Child abuse any classical music? Possibly one might accuse Leopold Mozart and Herr Beethoven of this, but not a responsible parent opening a window into a wonderful world.

Making young children go to a lound end of term school disco...that's child abuse. And then we wonder why there are so many hyper-active and emotionally distressed children around.

it would be interesting to chart the rise in numbers"hyper active " children against the number of Coke and pepsi machines in schools and shopping centres.

                Indeed

No one had ADHD before the invention of the digital sampler

(one needs to be careful about correlation and causation ...... though I do think that Coke is hardly innocent......)

Yeah, I know, I was just thinking about various things you could put together !! However, seriously for once, lifestyle choices (aspartame consumption, various "medications",using fire resistant pillows or sleeping with your iphone under your pillow, Listening to too much Bartok) are something that our kids education fails almost entirely to deal with. In my humble opinion.

                  as for those samplers........

Speaking of samples, a neighbour of my parents was asked to bring a sample of her urine to her local surgery. Looking around, she found an empty whisky bottle to put it in. On driving to the surgery, she found she'd arrived with enough time to do a spot of shopping before going in. She left her bag, with the urine sample, just inside the shop entrance. After paying, she returned to find that the "whisky" had been stolen!

Ah - not for me one of my favourite Schoenberg works, TS, though it does contain a memorable thematic opening (belying those who say 12-tone music has no singeable melodies) which gets subjected to development through in sonata form style, returning to grandly round off the work at its conclusion, and if I am correct the composer did acknowledge a stylistic link to Brahms. A critic once described the piece as sounding like Brahms played backwards!

                              Don't think I really "got" Brahms 3 till I was past 40...
