I enjoyed it, but as one of four people watching it in the cinema recently I suspect it won't last long on the film circuit.

I disagree with the Guardian about why Robert shaves off his beard, but you'll have to see it to make your own decision. There was a discussion about this around a week ago on R3.

Dave, there's a good review of the film by our friend bluestateprommer on my "Private lives of string quartets" thread, and kernelbogey aslo flagged it up on the "Cinema" thread. I greatly enjoyed the film, and have bought the book bluestateprommer recommends, about the Guarneri Quartet.
