Rattle performed this programme with the Berlin Phil live on the DCH on 5/11/10, and very impressive it was, with the additional excitement of rockets, bangers and the screeching protests of Tawny Owls as a neighbourhood accompaniment. The Singapore concert was given in November 2010 too, keen googlers may track down the exact date.

Forum listeners may recall that the Rattle/BPO 2010 Prom featuring Mahler's 1st (03/09/10 IIRC) was a 320kbps AAC webcast, one of the first, with the provisional "XHQ" title, now known as HDs. Remember the discussion thread with Rupert Brun?

At least you do get orchestral concerts on R3 in the summer, they've all but disappeared otherwise. I guess the Baroque Spring offered some cold economic comfort to the accountants.

Solti is among a number of otherwise notable Bruckner interpreters who can't seem to embrace the Eighth.
