Yes, I caught that exchange too. And most of the items referred to by others who obviously enjoyed the day, as I did. You have left me two items - the final Brandenberg No 6, a reflective and comforting sound to end the day, and the clavichord of Thurston Dart, a most captivating sound that caught me by surprise.

My last post was a lesson in what not to do while under the influence of opiates ( medicinal, of course). Hopefully, the brain and fingers are more in synch this time.

If the Thurston Dart piece was a pleasant surprise, so was one of JEG's Bach heroes, George Malcolm, playing BWV 971. This CD might be worth exploring:

George Malcolm Plays Bach. Heritage: HTGCD247. Buy CD or download online. George Malcolm (piano) Pro Arte Orchestra, Boris Ord

I think the first time I heard BWV 971 it was played by Murray Perahia, followed by the likes of Leonhardt, Scott and Schiff. But then there is this: Tatiana Nikolayeva - Bach Recital live Tokyo 1982 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hodn8mKs-NQ

I really should stump up the cash for the CD - :Olympia MKM052. I notice that Presto also have for a mere £5.50 ALTO ALC1205: http://altocd.com/alc1205. Track [9] Chaconne in D minor BWV1004-5 (arr. Busoni) 16:54. Must be worth it for this alone.

You might like this: Bach Busoni Chaconne in D minor Hélène Grimaud : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU_Ph5M0438
