Well it's hardly a new kind of controller is it ?
Apart from the fairly obvious convenience I often fail to understand why one would want to make a computer sound like a piano when there are lots of pianos in the world and one can do much more interesting things with a computer. (though I guess physiotherapy is expensive )

Rory Cellan-Jones visits the offices of London tech start-up Roli, to try out their flagship musical instrument, a 'spongy' keyboard called The Seaboard.

nobody is saying how much it will cost

The Eigenharp is a much more interesting implementation of this kind of technology IMV
this just seems like a sexy keyboard controller to me
I was trying to remember the other similar one that's been around for a while that allows movement on the key to change timbre and pitch etc .......

Rather than one of these fake pianos, I drool over having a Moore piano, or even a Janko piano. Very few of either were ever made.

Many thanks for the links. I never thought I'd "see" a Moor piano in action.

Now I've started to dream about winning the lottery jackpot and being able to commission Steinway to making another Moor piano.

completely off-topic but I hadn't realised, until the Rafael Puyana thread appeared, that triple-keyboard harpsichords even existed
