MrGG's comment clearly implied that the traveller was within UK. Your inference is simply perverse - as they used to say in those wartime films about naval battles "make smoke".

When you're down in the smoke next, I'll book a break-out room in the RFH, and I'll do you a free diversity awareness session - the least I can do for introducing me to so much marvellous music!

Black Swan
My last concert was 6 December at the Bridgewater Hall.
BBC Philharmonic
Juanjo Mena
Colin Currie, Percussion
Alfredo Garcia, Narrator Baritone
Turina - Ritmos
HK Gruber - Rough Music, Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra
Thomas Ades - These Premises are Alarmed
John Adams - Slonimsky's Earbox
Ginastera - Estancia, Complete Ballet with Baritone and Narrator
This is a very interesting and maybe brave program. It was very poorly attended. I am not sure if it was the program or Christmas Season malaise. I have to say I liked the 2nd half better than the first. I am not a huge fan of HK Gruber. Did any other forum members attend? It has been recorded by Radio 3 for a future broadcast.Last edited by Guest; 08-12-13, 22:35.

Symphony Orchestra rather than Phil? Sounds like the kind of thing the BBC Orchs (esp the Symphony) are encouraged to do because others won't.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
