I think you will find that in railway terminology, within England, London is always "up" the line.

Yes . Beefy was telling us about his last concert, up in London. Your Britten/Matthews etc concert up in Bristol sounded really interesting, which led me to check it out on youtube earlier today.

This is a very interesting and maybe brave program. It was very poorly attended. I am not sure if it was the program or Christmas Season malaise. I have to say I liked the 2nd half better than the first. I am not a huge fan of HK Gruber. Did any other forum members attend? It has been recorded by Radio 3 for a future broadcast.

Symphony Orchestra rather than Phil? Sounds like the kind of thing the BBC Orchs (esp the Symphony) are encouraged to do because others won't.
