    Connaissez-vous Radio Classique?

I suppose you could call this station the French equivalent of Classic FM, but I do find it less irritating and it's a good alternative to R3 at times.

I think I'm going to have to give this a go. Mornings are my main time of listening and I just don't how much longer I can put up with the 'Pops on 3' playlist and the Auto Generated Virtual continuity.

      Alternative to R3.

Whilst R3 was suffering from it's Mozart illness someone on the Board recommended a marvellous list of European Classic Music stations at http://www.listenlive.eu/classical.html. There you will find YLE Ylen Klassinen from Helsinki. Excellent quality on 192 Kbs and it's just interesting classic music CDs with the minimum of commentary. Enjoy.

France Musique at http://sites.radiofrance.fr/francemusique/accueil/ can be an excellent alternative too. A similar mix, musically, to R3 - and easily 'navigable' if that's the word.

Yes, I quite agree, 2LO - no commercials, which you do get with Radio Classique, but the downside is more "bla-bla", as the French say.
