    No less magical is the Mahler 4 with Fritz Reiner and the Chicago SO from 1958 in what is a truly inspired disc that hasn't had it's due.

    I played both of these tonight.
    Well recommended, Petrushka @ Mahler symphony no 4. - one of the few recordings where the voice and the singing match the words (and I presume the composer's intentions).

        Her Mozart opera performances with Erich Kleiber , Bohm and Krips are all now available very cheaply from Decca and wonderful they are too .

          Been listening to the della Casa /Bohm tonight . I think it has begun to replace his EMI recording in my affections. The Soave s'il vento is beyond compare.
