Thanks for all the sundry spam alerts. User removed. Memo to self: make the R3 test question harder!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

We don't get a huge number of spammers considering the number circulating as 'guests' at any given moment, and I've yet to come across one that can fill in an answer! This one was from India, hence the unsocial hour.

What they do know is the vBulletin (or WP in your case) software - he'd filled in his homepage too.

The question is hard to think up: it isn't supposed to prevent anyone signing up - just stop the bots. And it has to be one that the range of interested people can answer. If only I'd thought of the 'chromatic voice leading' one first: we could now be a very small, select community

I think this was supposed to be classical music, but whatever, a song that never fails to cheer me up, and make me smile is "Big Rock Candy Mountain".

Never liked Costello tbf - stupid Buddy Holly lookalike look thing, & the hailing of him as classically-influenced etc etc.

Some of the politics (ie Cash) is/was okish; as with many of Eisler's antifascist Red Flag marches, its the idiom that lassoos my buffalo.

(Sorry to all - off topic!)

Costello does get some people that way. I don't really like his voice, but his redemption is that he is a wonderful songwriter.(And i would forgive him almost anything for "Man out of Time"
I agree about Buddy....now what kind of wonderful music might HE have gone on to write.....I discovered that he once played Southampton Gaumont.......born too late !

As for the politics of country music.....

(still off topic ! I don't think I'll bother with that "What C and W album are you listening to " thread !!)

I guess Bobby was to country what The Freshies were to punk !

Hm... Arnold's humour has rather dated now, methinks ... sooooo 1967!

Poulenc's organ concerto I agree with you on, though: the dissolving of the starchily stentorian Bach parody into sheer silliness at the start of the finale!!!
