Well I'm in good company. There is only one story on the boards recently that I haven't read before. I like being reminded of someof them ams

I'd better not mention my most unusual location (again) then

There's a wicked tale of Britten at the piano rehearsing with Peter Pears stopping and saying-- " Come here Peter. Of course, it's too soon to be certain, but I think I'm going to have another opera! "

Not a live concert, but it probably doesn't get much more unlikely than this...

That's not real, is it? You photoshopped it... Please say you did..
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

                            Brilliant

I was giving a lecture at a university music department this week
and just before the tutor went round the students asking them what their chosen dissertation question was
this would have been perfect for those without an idea
                            as would (my question really)

"If Boulez was so good why isn't he on X Factor ? "

I think that what's on my telly at the moment counts: Valeri Gergiev and the World Orchestra for Peace playing 'Stars and Stripes Forever'....

Brass all on their feet for the final section!

Fun! And touching to see some of Solti's (now somewhat senior...) recruits to the Chicago Symphony joining in with solos.
