One of the many roles Theo Olof 1924-2012 played was concert-master of the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Bernard Haitink.
This charming photograph shows him with two winners of a competition for young amateurs in 1971*. Both became well-known, the girl playing for a well-known ensemble (recorded by Hyperion) and a founder member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the boy at 18 years old appointed to the same post Olof held at the Concertgebouw.

Many will have his recordings - the Henkemans concerto with Eduard van Beinum and the Britten with John Barbirolli are dear to me.
