And Jazz Library - which together with the reduced Discovering Music seems to have been axed to meet the cuts. Sequence programmes of commercial CD tracks are about the cheapest kind of programming and TTN is cheap for other reasons.

To give an example, when Classical Collection was commissioned in 2007, the guide price for 120 minutes was £1,600. At the same time, the guide price for the 45-minute Saturday music feature was £3,000-£5,000.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Sadly nothing appears to survive on YouTube except for the link to Renard (above) and a feature on Henze.
Somewhere in the loft I have VHS video tapes of the programmes on Varèse Intégrales and Messiaen Couleurs de la Cité Celeste. Also, though I don't think from the same series, a wonderfully presented television programme on Berio's Sinfonia (CBSO/Rattle). The performance section of that programme does appear to be on YouTube.
