I hate admitting this, but I find much Delius simply boring - and believe me I have tried very hard over many years. However, I think I am a little more open-minded than the strings of one (amateur) orchestra that I conducted who simply went on strike when confronted with "First Cuckoo"! At that moment, I became the world's most committed Delian - if only temporarily.

It strikes me that, for many of the people contributing to this thread, their irritation with various pieces stems from them being endlessly repeated on Breakfast. This begs the question: why on earth listen to a programme that causes such irritation? After all the programme is little more than aural wallpaper.

Personally, from your list, I find Ein Deutsches Requiem heavy. I actually fell asleep in the Berlin Philharmonie with HvK conducting. However, it is the orchestral version I do not get on with. It is lovely in the two piano version.
