Personally, I'm beginning to like Mr Cheese's style. And his subjects are interesting. I'm tempted to find out more about Monn, for sure. I recommend the last couple of links as amusing and informative.

Personally I prefer Monn to be Monn and Schoenberg Schoenberg. There's a nice recording of the original version on the CPO label together with some other concertos by Monn.

One of the challenges I set myself in writing Wheels of Cheese was that I would attempt to come at the pieces I was going to listen to with naught but a cursory glance at the title of the piece, eschewing the addictive activity of poring over liner notes and the vasty vasty fields of secondary texts that propagate outwards around any piece of work.
