Chris posted this on 20 April.
Searchimg through Arte Live's backlog of goodies I discovered this Coronation of Poppaea conducted by Emmanuele Haim. From Lille it is well directed, with lots of gusto and humour which makes the underlying story so leave bad/sad tastes on the palate.
Since then, the link has expired but the opera is now found on youtube.
