The mother of all essential, desert island, favourite, top 10,top 3 etc list things.

    Just a bit of fun,hope I haven't started a war or anything,and yes I will get a life.
So,who is the your favourite composer.
Only one rule, you can take the complete works of one,and only one, composer to the desert island, simples.
I would certainly find it difficult to live without the music of Mendelssohn,Brahms,Britten,Elgar and many others.
However, for me it would have to be Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Apart from going mad with indecision, I have to ask will there be a half-decent hifi there? If so, then it's Bruckner.

If it's portable, mini or table-top - Haydn.

Didn't break any rules did I..?

Haydn - by a few nautical miles. But ask me again tomorrow . . .

Beethoven, without any shadow of a doubt.
