(it's obviously the NU academic board meeting, and with all the marking they have to do you can't really expect senior academics to be wasting their time teaching the likes of us ! )

        ...instead?...

I don't even need a reason not to go to the gym! (and, for that matter, I don't even know the location of my nearest one).

sometimes my excuses were better than the essays. In fact usually.

I never go to a gym, and this is entirely because of the 'orrible music. I keep fit by running, swimming, walking and gardening.

It's treadmills that amuse me. Why run indoors, where it's hot and stuffy and with no change of scenery, when you can do so outside and breath fresh(ish) air?

Indeed. So what's your musical capsule for releasing those endorphins Eine? I always find that a well chosen playlist can push one through the pain barrier to endorphin nirvana.

Ammy, you need to do yourself a playlist and then set the Ipod to Shuffle and, presto, you have the magic of serendipity!

I've never been to a gym in my life.
I love listening to Mendelssohn piano music whilst walking my dog though.

Well I'm just back from 70mins of physical & musical torture in the gym. Though as I mentioned earlier the manufactured pop stuff just merges in to a background mush and I think I've now become virtually immune to it all. Probably I would imagine because I concentrate on my work out so much trying to just get through it!
