No, it's not. That starts in 6/8 then moves into 3/4.

I'd have picked the "Waltz" movement from the Pathetique symphony as well. I was going to suggest the feem toon from "The Bill" but it turns out that was in 7/4.

How about every other (odd numbered) bar of the Promenade from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition? It goes 5/4, 6/4, 5/4, 6/4.....

I was nearly 40 in 1987 - too old for parties. Have read the link above; it means absolutely nothing to me. (Of course in 1987 R3 was still worth listening to, so I'd have no need for Pump up the volume.)

"Famous" to whom? The "Westminster Chimes" on a neighbour's doorbell is in 5/4: is the original?

(Otherwise, I'd've plumped for Tchaik #6, ii or Brubeck with Mars and Mission Impossible close runners-up.)

The closing part of "Daphnis and Chloe" is what we're all looking for. The dancers were all urged to repeat "Ser-gei-Dia-gi-lev" to get the metre into their heads.

Then they had to deal with "The Rite of Spring".
