This latest King's College thread contribution reminds me of a recording (made in 1974) of Shakespeare's "The Tempest" in a quadraphonic type matrix with Paul Scofield, Patrick Stewart, Jane Knowles, Richard Kay, Ronnie Stevens, Charles Kay et al and including what must have been quite a young Rory Kinnear. The recording took place in The Red Lion ,near High Holborn, if memory serves. The music was composed for a group of musicians arranged in a circle which included Mike Westbrook, Christopher Hogwood (on electric harpsichord!), Tristan Fry and, slightly nervous at being in such exalted company,...yours truly. The "Paul Scofield Recordings"site is vague about the existence of these recordings and the BBC Archive list of names doesn't even list Paul Scofield or David Cain, a stalwart of the Radiophonic Workshop for many years. I have a one CD reduction of the 2CD version mentioned in the Scofield site and, but as yet unplayed after 40+ years a pair of tapes with presumably the complete play.
What I have played and put up on my site is a short extract of a Binaural Recording I made in about 1969 which starts, as does the King's College Chapel presentation, with vocal identification of spatial locations. This similarity was amusing (to me, at least). You can judge for yourself if you scroll down on the page linked below.
