De Peyer was a marvellous player, very musical and with a mellifluous sound (I'm using the past tense, but I believe he is still alive - at 88 I'm not sure he is still playing publicly though). I have the Puddy (much discussed above) and the Nash Ensemble's Wigmore Hall recording of the Brahms quintet, both of which are very good, but relish the chance to add de Peyer's .
