    'The page you requested does not exist'.

    Shades of 'Lady, don't fall backwards' by D'Arcy Sarto, in 'Hancock's Half-Hour'.

      It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

        No Creed, yet we get a coronation sermon, which hasn't been a feature since 1838.

            A choir member explained this when we performed the Coronation Anthems last year. It was one of those things where the words are sung and a query arises in the mind in passing but may not get followed up(not necessarily explained or known about by an MD either) so it was helpful.

              From ChoralWiki:

              Prevent us, O Lord

              General information
              From the Book of Common Prayer

              Settings by composers:

              Herbert Brewer SATB
              William Byrd SAATB
              Charles Hubert Hastings Parry SATB

              English text

              Prevent us O Lord, in all our doings with thy most gracious favour,
              and further us with thy continual help;
              that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee,
              we may glorify thy holy Name.
              And finally by thy mercy, obtain everlasting life;
              through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

                The first public release of new music:

                Westminster Abbey has today released the words and music of the Vivat acclamations which will be sung at the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen on Saturday 6th May.

                  The whole shebang released on the same day, if anyone's interested

                  The Coronation service, and pre-service music, will be exclusively recorded and released by Decca Records the very same day, May 6, 2023

                    I hope the composers will get their fair share of the royalties (every pun intended), but I wonder if they have to sign over their copyright to the crown.

                      I very much doubt it!

                        "This will be the first time that the recording of a Coronation ceremony will be available globally to stream and download on the day of the service itself."

                        Really? This wasn't done in 1953? I have to say I'm very surprised.

                              That’s the neck badge version of the Knights Bachelor insignia.
