One wonders if one will be given the opportunity to hear them: Charles is apparently going to the rehearsal to hear the pre-service music as he won't be there on the day!
TV coverage will surely be on the carriages and processions etc.
Dare one hope that there will be an uninterrupted radio broadcast from the Abbey?

The film of the last coronation included a lot of pre-service music so I expect it will be shown, especially as the composers are known to TV audiences and producers.

I have a couple of friends in Rome who are likely to be giving live commentary for RAI, and some advance warning of what's going on would be very useful.

From this weblink the COE hierarchy can’t seem to make up their mind whether Coronation starts with a capital or not. Let’s hope the “specially commissioned and authorised liturgy” is better organised

Since when has the CofE been able to make up its mind about anything?
Fudge and obfuscation seem to be what it excels at.


In defence of the material on the site, though, it could just about be argued that the specific event (The King's Coronation on Coronation Day) is one at which a (generic, even if specially contrived) coronation liturgy will be used.

I think it's only fair to recall that the Churhch of England was always frankly intended to be a very English compromise solution, to enable the maximum number of people to accept it conscientiously, hence the latitude in its demands,at the expense of a series of dilemmas over what to dictate to the faithful. Rome never had this problem, until Vatican II anyway.
