Radio 3 during the period of National Mourning

At present (11.45 a.m.) Radios 2,3 &4 are broadcasting the funeral. Radios 1 and 6 are playing pop music (at least what I call pop).
I think this shows a poor attitude of the BBC towards Radio3. Surely one channel is enough for the funeral broadcast , probably Radio4. The fact that 1 and 6 are considered exempt from having to comply suggests that they are so important they cannot be tampered with. It's a continuation of the policy that says R3 has to be 'without barriers' and play pop but R1 &2 mustn't be expected to play classical.
Bad show old boy.

Have you never made a blooper and that hole wasn’t available for you to hide?

I'm rather disappointed that we don't get to hear the organ music before either service. TV, not surprisingly, is concentrating on the visual spectacle and the accompanying processional band music, but I would have thought that those of us on this "home of classical music" might have been allowed a share of the preliminary aural offering - does anyone know why it isn't being broadcast?

Originally posted by cat View PostNot sure I get it - if people are fed up with media coverage of this event, I’m sure they can figure out some way to otherwise entertain themselves, and does no one own any recorded music or books, or subscribe to any streaming services? Reading the complaints, anyone would think listening to broadcasts was a mandatory daily activity. It’s not like a head of state dies in office every decade.
