    Freddie Campbell RIP

Long standing members of the Forum, especially those from the old BBC boards (a diminishing number nowadays), may well recall Freddie Campbell as a contributor.

I see from the Lebrecht site that he has just passed away https://slippedisc.com/2022/06/londo...nder-has-died/

He certainly had a very interesting musical career and I can remember having the odd exchange with him about his time as a musician in HM Life Guards. If memory serves me correctly, he refused to come on to this Forum once the Beeb pulled the plug on theirs.

    RIP Freddie.

    RIP Freddie.
I do remember him very well - a forthright contributor! I didn't remember that he didn't join us here, but if he joined and didn't contribute for a long time his account would have been deleted so I can't check.

Add: Yes, he posted here regularly in the early days.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thanks, wasn't 100% sure whether he had contributed on this Forum or not. I do recall he had a lot of trouble with some difficult neighbours and, yes, remember his forthright style!
