Learning music - or programming - or computing?

I found this - which has some interesting points.

    Sonic-Pi https://sonic-pi.net/

The developer of Sonic-Pi is enthusiastic - but does it really help with music?

As YAPCS ("Yet Another Piece of Computer Software") what does it show - what insights - and is it important for education?

Of course as I type - and any of you eventually reply - you will be using computers and if you could "see" the instructions as you type you might realise that you are working in a similar way - but you are not going to operate at the level of abstraction of low level code, or even streams of data bits sent from one computer to another so that we can all communicate.

So what's different? Is it important at all?

Realising that two looping blocks in a sequential program won't work, because one will block the other (hence the need for concurrency) is interesting (perhaps) for computer scientists, but for many people - including I suspect a lot of young kids and teachers - this would just trigger Yawn* [regular expression format].
