I recently came across mention of a notation for a musical slide - apparently used in some music several centuries ago. I do not recall ever having seen such a notation.
There could be several reasons for that, one being that it wasn't really that common, but another might be that modern editors eliminate it and replace it - if indeed they do - by written out notation.
Has anyone here ever come across examples of slides - say in the music of Purcell or composers round that time?
