More on tuning and microtones etc.

Not really a Jazz video per se, but about Fractals - and using some videos of John Coltrane playing - https://youtu.be/J98jwtm5U4E - a video put together by Adam Neely - called the Coltraine Fractal. The concepts in the video are slightly dubious - well not fractals - which are real - but the particular examples chosen which may not actually be quite as rigorous as they could be, and one of the comments which follows the video tries to explain where Neely might have gone wrong - but it is an interesting video anyway.

Some of the aural examples are really striking. Watch out for the list of different intervals mentioned in an article by Johnny Reinhard - though I can't find that one right now, but rather this one - https://stereosociety.com/polymicrotonally/ The so-called howling dominant is really bad!

Ah - here is the article - https://stereosociety.com/20/jpg/Joh...one-Tuning.pdf

Reinhard is a bassoonist and composer specialising in microtonal music.
