    Maria Callas Documentary

Last night, BBC Four. Did nobody watch it? I expected to find a thread on here.

I missed it but perhaps it'll be repeated or on iPlayer.
I'm not her greatest fan but that's perhaps because I never saw her perform live, an experience that seems to have deeply affected those that saw her.
Imv her later recordings are difficult to enjoy but her earlier discs can be sensational.

      Here's the iPlayer link - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod...aria-by-callas

Gradus, agree with your comments. My early listening experiences were with her later recordings and I found them unpleasant. Hearing the earlier recordings is a very different matter, and now even the later ones convey the spirit of the singing actress in repertoire that has become more familiar over time.
