    Gordon Green on Radio 3

An FB message, directed towards me, asks a question that I am unable to help with, directly. I, therefore, quote the main part of it here in the hope that someone can assist:

" . . . any chance you know of pianist Gordon Green (professor at Royal Manchester and RAM, teacher to Steven Hough, Martino Tirimo, Philip Fowke and many other[s])? You mentioned BBC Radio 3 chat room, and I remember a few good years ago that someone had recorded and kept all broadcasts from radio 3; meanwhile BBC hasn’t kept anything in its archives by either Green or Rawsthorne (who wrote a few pieces for him). Thanks in advance:-)"

I can't be of much help here but, as one of those "many others" was John Ogdon, you might find it helpful to consult Charles Beauclerk's book on him, Piano Man (SImon & Schuster, London; 2104), in which there are eight references to Green; a few extracts from the book can be viewed at https://books.google.co.uk/books/abo...AJ&redir_esc=y by selecting the clickable chapter titles.

Thanks, Alistair. However, it is very much recordings of the Radio 3 broadcasts that my FB contact is seeking to get access to.

You're welcome - and understood, of course and I'm sorry that I can't be of any more help with this. Good luck in your quest!
